Irwin Underbakke, 73, of Argyle, MN, passed away on Thursday morning, February 5, 2009 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND.
Irwin Orville Underbakke was born on March 10, 1935 in Fillmore County, MN, the son of Elmer and Annie (Oswald) Underbakke. He was the youngest of seven children. He moved with his family to farm near Argyle just before beginning school and he graduated from Warren High School. After Irwin graduated, he remained on the family farm, taking over after the death of his father in 1964. He enjoyed farming… ..tractor or truck. After Irwin retired from farming, he continued to look forward to harvest time.
He enjoyed farming and his favorite hours were spent behind the wheel of a tractor or truck.
Irwin was a member of the Alma Free Lutheran Church.
Left to mourn his passing are sister, Lela Underbakke of Boulder, CO; sister-in-law, Millie Underbakke of Hesperia, CA; two nephews, Larry (Kitty) Underbakke and David (Timara) Underbakke; three nieces, Judy (Steven) Steele, Jean (Jody) Sherrill and Janice (Brian) Albers; eleven great-nephews and nieces and two great-great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Arline Lundby; four brothers, Lawrence, Ray, Elmer “Arnold” and Leland and niece, Linda.
