Inre Welker, 101, of Warren, MN, formerly of Stephen passed away on Saturday, November 14, 2009 at the Marshall Manor Good Samaritan Home in Warren.
Inre Welker was born on December 11, 1907, the daughter of Nels and Ingeborg (Lundeen) Larson in Fork Township, near Stephen, MN. Inre attended Fork country school throught the 8th grade. She was the oldest of 5 children. After completing school, Inre stayed home to care for her brothers and sisters because her mother died at a young age. She met and married John Welker from Stephen on January 17, 1937. They made their home in rural Stephen where they farmed. They had one daughter, Joan, who died at the age of 19. Inre enjoyed helping out on the farm. John died in 1958. She married George Olson on January 19, 1970 and he passed away in 1971. Inre moved to the Good Samaritan Center in 1997.
Inre enjoyed embroidery, sewing, gardening and was also a volunteer driver. She also enjoyed traveling, touring Europe twice. Inre belonged to First Lutheran Church of Stephen where she was a member of the sewing group and Ladies Aid.
Left to mourn her passing are nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husbands, John and George; daughter, Joan and siblings, Ragn Larson, Nellie Olson, Erling Larson and Ethel Olson.
The family of Inre would like to thank the staff of the Good Samaritan Center for the excellent care that she received for the last twelve years.
