Ina Tressie Halbert (nee England) of Steelville, MO passed away Tuesday, November 3, 2009 at the Gibbs Care Center in Steelville at the age of 90 years, 9 months and 29 days. On October 22, 1938, Ina was united in marriage to Bernard L. “Doc” Halbert in Steelville, MO.

In addition to being a wonderful wife and mother, Ina and Doc owned and operated Halbert Construction Company for over 30 years.

Ina enjoyed cooking and baking for her family.

She was a member of Gibbs Thrift Club, the Steelville Presbyterian Church and Mariners Group, Martha Mary Chapter of Eastern Star and the Ladies Tabor Memorial Post VFW Auxiliary #6479.

She is survived by her children, Virginia Mae Halbert of Steelville, Kenneth Lee Halbert and wife Elizabeth of Steelville, Dolores Ann Riebel of Westerville, OH and Wanda Jean Grayson and husband Alan of Steelville; grandchildren, Thomas Randy Lewis and wife Cindy, Tracy Ann Garrison and husband Mark, John B. Halbert and wife Teresa, Lila F. Halbert, Rick Halbert and wife Kendra, Paula McGinnis and husband David, Scott Halbert and wife Rhonda, Joseph Halbert and wife Kira, Eric Riebel, Erin Riebel, Kyle Grayson and wife Hailey, Kara Grayson, Dillon Halbert Grayson and Sara Halbert; twenty-three great-grandchildren, Thomas, Randi Jean, Joshua, Jered, Trevor, Johnny, Jake, Katie, Meagan, Francis Ann, Alexander, Jeremiah, Peggy Jane, Samuel Kenneth, Natalie, Garet, Adam, Noah, Hunter, Ethan, Eevie, Andrew and Austin; one great-great-granddaughter, Emma Rose; brothers, Kermit England and wife Marie and Loftus England all of Fenton, MO and Curtis England of Steelville; sisters-in-law, Mary Lou England, Ada Halbert and Dixie Payne all of Steelville; other relatives and friends.

Ina was preceded in death by her parents; her husband B.L. “Doc” Halbert; brothers, Lytle England, Harry Lee England and Glen England and wife Bonnie; one sister, Nina Waller and husband Lee; brothers-in-laws, Earl Halbert, Tee Halbert and wife Laverna and Ken Payne;sisters-in-law, Helen Hinch and husband Clyde, Joan England and Dollie England; and one grandson, Samuel Halbert.
