Obituary
Homer F. Slinkerd passed away on March 21, 2019 at the age of 94. He was the beloved husband of the late Shirley Slinkerd (Nixon). He is survived by his son, Robert (Linda) Slinkerd of Lake Saint Louis, MO; sister, Dorothy DePalm of Wentzville, MO; sister-in-law, Arvetta Bray of Wentzville, MO; grandson, David T. (Caitlin) Slinkerd; two great-grandchildren, Carson and Adalyn. He is preceded in death by his father, Fred Slinkerd, mother, Virginia Slinkerd (Pflanz), wife, Shirley Slinkerd (Nixon), son, John Slinkerd, brother-in-laws, Melvin Bray, Tony DePalm. Homer and Shirley Nixon were one of the first couples to be married at the United Methodist Church in Wentzville on September 15, 1951. He proudly served his country in the U. S. Navy during World War II and was discharged on May 20, 1946 and he retired from McDonnell-Douglas Aircraft in 1980. He loved aviation and flying planes. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
