He loved his guitar, playing at nursing homes in Greenville and Wayland, loved trains, fishing, camping and planting a garden. Preceding him in death were his father, Herman Lyle Smith, Sr.; niece, Heather Decker; grandparents, William and Amanda Little, and King and Anna Smith. Surviving are his mother, Mary Smith; sisters, Sharon (Eugene) Decker, Penny (Gary) Martin, Cindy (Stan) Owen, and Brenda (Kevin Wilson) Smith; several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
