Charles Herman Hewkin of Davisville, Missouri passed away Sunday, June 23, 2013 at Cuba Manor at the age of 84 years, 2 months and 24 days. He was born March 30, 1929 in Davisville, Missouri to Clifford John Hewkin and Opal Leah Martin Hewkin. Herman was united in marriage to Violet Opal Harris on May 28, 1949 in Piggot, AR and to this union one son and three daughters were born. His wife, Violet, preceded him in death in 2003.


Herman worked for Chrysler in St. Louis and retired in 1991. He spent much of his life farming, making fences and raising cattle. He was a member of Midland Assembly Church.


He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his one son, Richard Hewkin and wife Sharon of Cuba, MO; three daughters, Judy Turnbough and husband Glenwood of Steelville, MO, Carolyn Hewkin of Davisville, MO and Pam Wallis and husband Danny of Viburnum, MO; twelve grandchildren, Kim Gibbs and husband Jeff, Shelley Barton and husband Tim, Kevin Hewkin and wife Shannon, Glendell Turnbough and wife Lisa, Danny Turnbough and wife Mary, Jimmy Turnbough, Stephanie Pyatt and husband Ronnie, Melinda Schmitt and husband Justin, Jessica Conaway and husband Scott, Josh Asher and wife Diona, Andrew Wallis and Kaley Wallis; seventeen great-grandchildren; one sister, Anna Marie Bonner of Davisville, MO; sisters in-law, Alline Cottrell of Sullivan, MO, Betty Martin and Ina Davis of Steelville, MO, Bonnie Barton of Cherryville, MO; brother in-law, Thomas Harris and wife Elma of Viburnum, MO; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.


He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Violet; one brother, Johnny Eugene Hewkin; brothers in-law, Henry Bonner, Vencil  Cottrell, William Bernard Harris, Gilbert Davis and Jim Martin; and sister in-law, Mildred Turnbough and husband Cletis.


The Family received friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.


Honored to be casket bearers were Kevin Hewkin, Bob Foshee, Scott Conaway, Joshua Asher, Andrew Wallis and Jeff Gibbs.
