Henry Thomas Adams, 88, of Steelville, passed away Tuesday, July 24, 2007 at Phelps County Regional Hospital in Rolla, Missouri. He was born August 4, 1918 near Steelville on the farm where he spent his entire life, the 3rd child of Phillip Marion and Mille Neleta (Kimberlin) Adams.

Henry is survived by six sisters and brothers-in-law; Pauline Adams of Steelville, Missouri, Ava Comfort of Columbia, Missouri, Betty and husband Lewis Ferrrell of Viburnum, Missouri, Opal Comfort of O’Fallon, Missouri, Anna and husband Robert Horn of Delmar, New York, Dorothy Weber of Gray Summit, Missouri and Bryce Maloney of Salem, Missouri; one brother and sister-in-law, George and Sharon Adams of Steelville, Missouri; 6 nephews, Ray Comfort, Charles Ferrell, Eddie Ferrell, Todd Horn, Phil Adams, Mike Adams; 13 nieces, Marian Roberts, Phyllis Burr, Linda Kendrick, Shirley Comfort, Gale Teasley, Kim Busche, Lisa Hollander, Rebecca Fleahmann, Leslie Trosset, Cindy Jackson, Julie Murray, Debbie Juntti, and Diana O’Rourke; 26 great nieces and nephews;16 great-great nieces and nephews; and many cousins and friends.

Henry was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters Neola McKay and Neleta Maloney; four brothers-in-law, A.F. “Mac” McKay, Glenn Comfort, Lewis Comfort and Bob Weber; and one niece, Janet (Ferrell) Parrett.

Henry was a life long member of the Steelville Presbyterian Church. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Henry was station agent for Burlington and Frisco Railroad for nearly 40 years. He closed the Steelville Depot in 1971 and worked at several depots and made friends all up and down the line. He was a member and volunteer for many community organizations and always ready to do anything he could to help others.
