Henry Enrico (Rico) Borrazzo passed away surrounded by loving family on July 6, 2022, after a courageous battle with Myelodysplastic Syndrome.
He obtained an accounting degree from Burdett College in Boston MA, then went onto serve in the United States Army. Upon returning to civilian life, he worked in the banking and mortgage industry for years before returning to civil servantry with FEMA under the direction of Homeland Security, which is what brought him to his beloved Gautier in 2005, the place he likes to call “Home” and where he was known affectionately as “Mr. Rico”.
He served in various clubs and organizations. President of the Gautier Rotary Club, a member of the American Legion Post 1992, The Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, The Gautier Historic Preservation Committee, The Gautier Mullett Festival, and Gautier Pride. He was also an Associate Member of the Jackson County Republican Women’s Club. Dedicating his life to serving his community, he worked tirelessly in volunteer service and was named Gautier’s Citizen of the Year in 2016.
Mr. Rico loved to worship and fellowship, attending the following churches, St. Mary’s Catholic Church, First Baptist Church of Gautier (Loose Cannons), and the Gautier First United Methodist Church.
Rico was an animal lover leaving behind a fur family of six dogs and two cats. He also helped rescue, rehome, and heal numerous other animals over the years.
Prior to relocating to Mississippi, Rico lived in Florida where he was a member of the American Legion, The Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, President, and board member of the Five Towns of Terrace Park No 311 and volunteered on the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT).
