Obituary
Helmut Knabe passed away on November 15, 2018 at the age of 85. He was the beloved husband of Brigitta Knabe nee Gerner of Wentzville, Missouri; He is survived by his son, Michael (Gina) Knabe of Florrisant, MO; four daughters, Marion (Steven) Maxfield of Sandy, UT, Vera (Michael) Taul of Manchester, MO, Helene (David) Kueck of Wentzville, MO, Christina (Zachary) Trostel of Imperial, MO; 11 grandchildren, Paul Maxfield, Michael Knabe, Crystal (Justin) Feeney, Jessica (Anthony) Francis, Nicole (Christopher) Lindsey Vogelsang, Daniel Maxfield, Samantha Warner, Madison Knabe, Christopher Kueck, Anna Knabe and Michael Trostel; 9 great-grandchildren, Audrey Mittrucker, Makayleigh Francis, Jordyn Francis, Christopher (C.J.) Lindsey, Norah Feeney, Carsen Warner, Addison Francis, Ian Lindsey, Vivian Feeney. He is preceded in death by his father, Eric Knabe, mother, Helene Knabe, brothers, Rudy Knabe, Kurt Knabe, Monfred Knabe all of Germany, sister, Charlotte Knabe of Germany. Helmut was a gracious, courteous, man who always had a positive attitude. He enjoyed spending time with his family of 5 children, 11 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren. Helmut arrived in the United States in 1968 from Germany. He first worked at Andre’s Hair Salon in Warson Woods, Missouri and later owned The Village Coiffures in Warson Woods, Missouri. He had done Elizabeth Taylor’s hair while in Germany, and after 65 years he retired. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
