Hannah Kathryn Butler Gauthier, 24, a lifelong resident of Gautier, MS breathed her last breath on Thursday, September 15, 2022 in Mobile, Alabama.

Hannah was born on September 8, 1998 in Pascagoula, MS to Howard and Tina Butler. This little bundle of joy was the baby of the family and the only girl of four children.  She fit this bougie role, long before the word was known. Her dad was her hero and her mom a confidant and friend, her brothers, her defenders and protectors.  “Hannah Banana”, “Jellybean” as she was often called was always full of life, funny stories, laughter and ready to dance. She had the gift and ability to make others smile and was always ready to lend a helping hand, a highlighter or pen.

After graduating from Gautier High School in 2017, Hannah was able to fulfill a dream. She completed nursing school and became an R.N.

On February 19, 2022 another dream came true. She married her prince charming, Matthew Gauthier. Together they were a great team, embracing each day with expectancy.  While celebrating her birthday the unexpected happened, a tragic accident that would end her life, but not her dreams.

Death robs us of so many things, but it can never take away the 24 wonderful years we had with Hannah. So many places, experiences, memories and laughter that will forever be with us. The overachiever that she was, Hannah, even in death continued to save lives and bring smiles and hope to others through organ donation. Hannah will continue to live through her family, her coworkers, her community and yes even in those she did not know.  Through tears and immeasurable pain, we release you to Fly High Baby Girl, Fly High!

She was preceded in death by her grandparents Kathryn Butler, Grady Butler, and Billee Badorek.

She is survived by her husband, Matthew Gauthier, parents, Howard and Tina Butler; brothers. Jayson Butler (Michelle), Justin Butler (Shanta), and Ben Burgin; mother-in-law, Rebecca Ann Cabe and father-in-love, Kevin Langdon; sisters-in-law, Sydney Dunston and Marissa Gauthier; grandparents, Lynn Badorek and Rosally Cabe; nieces and nephews, Taylor, Annalyse, Camdyn,  and Noah and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and extended family. Last but not least, her fur babies, Henry, June Carter and Dobby and Kevin.

We encourage you to wear a little pink, her favorite color, honoring her memory.
