Grover Cleveland Barton, Sr. of Steelville was born to the union of Lonnie C. Barton and Lavada Henson on April 23, 1950 in Bismarck, Missouri and left from this life on Monday, July 1, 2013 at St. Clare Health Center in Fenton, Missouri at the age of 63. Grover was united in marriage to Phyllis Sue Shoemake on October 17, 2000 in Bismarck, Missouri.


Grover was self employed having owned and operated a Salvage Yard in Davisville, Missouri and was an Evangelical Minister. He enjoyed buying, selling and salvaging cars and trucks.


 


Grover spent the majority of his life in Wortham, MO but was most recently a resident of Steelville, MO.


 


Preceding him in death was one daughter, Kimberly Barton; three brothers; Jim, Elmer (Jock), and Willard Barton along with four grandchildren: Amber Barton,  Ashley Barton, Austin Barton & Tara Minnich


 


Survivors in addition to his wife, Sue Barton of Steelville, MO; are his children: Grover Barton & wife Kathy of Boss, Debbie (Barton) Kean & husband William of Pacific, Tim Barton & wife Shelley of Cherryville, Bryan Barton & wife Denise of Farmington, Diana (Barton) Smith & husband Jim of Desloge, and Amy Barton & fiancé Kyle Cosby of Park Hills, Tracy Goheen & husband Geno of Park Hills, Misty Barton Akins & husband Ronnie of Leasburg, Patricia Nagle & husband David Jr. of Robertsville and Johnny Farris Jr. of Leasburg;  grandchildren: Tiffanie Barton, Brittanie Barton, Adam Barton, Dee Dee Litterall, William Kean Jr., Forrest Kean, Samantha James, Cole Barton, Brandy Barton, Cortney Barton, Aubri Smith, Jimmy Smith, III, Sophia Smith, Jaxon Smith, Shelby Tulloch, Seth Barton,  Liz Fishburn, Samantha Gann, Kristen Gann, Paden Akins, Brianna Akins, Candis, Peter & Christina Farris, and Cody Hardie, Kamrin and Anna Akins; great-grandchildren: Serene Annalin Barton, Gabriel Dale Barton, Skyla Raine Barton, Journie Hall, Dawson Litterall, Heaven Lee Kean and Clinton James Akins; seven sisters, Dolly (Barton) Staab of Lincoln, NE, Louise Barton of Mineral Point, MO, Barbara Barton of Irondale, MO, Sue (Barton) Ballard of Columbia, MO, Lucy (Barton) Nienaber of Broken Bow, NE, Betty (Barton) Mitchell of Leadwood, MO & Bonnie (Barton) Tucek of Amarillo, TX; two brothers,  Lonnie (Junior) Barton of Frankclay, MO, and Francis Barton of Bismarck, MO, along with countless nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, friends and extended family.


The Family received friends on Saturday, July 6, 2013 at 11:00 a.m.

Family members were honored to be casket bearers.
