Gerald “Jerry” Eugene Anderson, son of Alden and Ruth Anderson was born on October 7, 1940 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He grew up in Minneapolis and moved to Border, MN, and later Lincoln, Nebraska where he graduated from high school in 1958. He worked for State Farm Insurance for a short time before entering the United States Army in 1961. He served for three years, including 16 months in Okinawa, before his honorable discharge in August 1964. He and Sharon Yakel were married on June 9, 1962 in Lincoln, NE. They moved to the Baudette area in 1982 and Jerry worked for Rowell Laboratories in the print shop. He retired from Solvay Pharmaceuticals in 2003 after 20 years of service.
