George Winston Hanna of St. James, Missouri passed away on Wednesday, November 10, 2010 at the Missouri Veteran’s Home in St. James, Missouri. George was 91 years, 9 months and 10 days of age.

George Hanna was born on January 31, 1919 to his parents: Charles and Elizabeth (Booth) Hanna in Hollister, Missouri. George was united in marriage to Jane A. Seiber on September 7, 1939 in St. James, Missouri. To this union one son was born.

George Hanna loved baseball and had a great knowledge of it from a young age. He loved woodworking and built a lot of things. He was a great handy man; loved fishing; gardening; and even had a full garden at the Missouri Veteran’s Home. He started hunting with his son Don when Don was 10 years old. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in St. James, Missouri. George was a good dad and grandfather. He was always a leader and a people person. He was on the City Council of St. James. George worked as a warehouse foreman at Lambert Furniture Co. in St. Louis, Missouri; NL Indiana as shipping and packaging supertendent; Jefferson City Highway Patrol as warehouse supervisor. George retired in 1983 to St. James, Missouri.

Surviving George is his son: Donald G. Hanna and wife Barbara of Neosho, Missouri; one brother: Gordon Augustine; one sister: Imogene Clegg of Allegan, Michigan; five grandchildren: Catherine; Donna; Kari; Nicole; and Erin; eleven great-grandchildren and one great great-granddaughter along with a host of family and friends. George will be greatly missed by all who knew and love him.

Preceding George in death are his parents: Charles and Elizabeth (Booth) Hanna; his wife Jane A. Hanna on May 1, 2007; and one sister: Clarasteen Romano.
