George Guibault of Warroad was born on May 2, 1932 to Joseph and Mary (Matelski) Guibault. He grew up and attended school in Warroad, and played high school hockey and Lakers hockey. He was an avid sports fan! He enjoyed playing golf and dearly loved hunting deer and birds with the boys.

George was married to Marge Freeberg on May 2, 1964. He worked at Marvin’s in Warroad for 27 years and owned and operated Long Legged Lake resort for 17 years before retiring. He and Marge owned a summer retreat at Young’s Bay at the Northwest Angle. They enjoyed their friendships with the McKeever family and their neighbors at the angle.

George was a member of the American Legion a” Andrew O. Mattson Post #25 in Warroad, a 15 year Charter Member of the Order of Eagles, Aerie # 4195 in Warroad, and a former member of Casa Grande, Arizona Elks Lodge # 1957. He was also a member of the Warroad Fire Department.

He passed away peacefully on July 23, 2006 at his summer retreat at Young’s Bay. He was 74 years of age.

He is survived by his wife; Marge of 42 years, daughter Teri (Mark) Hanson, two grandsons; Jacob and John, brother; Vernon Dale, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, twin sisters; Dorothy Johnson and Doris Norquist, and brother; Emil.
