Genevieve Angeline Scott, nee Watson, was born March 1, 1926 in Shawneetown, Gallatin County, IL. She passed away Sunday, August 4, 2013 at the age of 87 years, 5 months and 3 days.


Genevieve was united in marriage to Elmer D. Scott on October 25, 1941 in Rolla, MO. They were married 63 years when he passed in October 2004. To this union four sons and two daughters were born.


Preceding her in death was her husband, Elmer;  parents Willis and Dessie, nee Drake, Watson; one infant son, Stephen, one grandson; two brothers; one younger sister; and son in-law Gary Plank.


Those who survive her include sons, David Whittaker of Hannibal, MO, James Scott and wife Sandra of Steelville, MO, Charles Scott and special friend, Patricia and John Scott and wife Uda all of Dixon, MO; daughters, Mary Norris and husband Marvin of St. James, MO and Linda Plank of Salem, MO; nineteen grandchildren, three step-grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.


Elmer and Genevieve lived on Peaceful Bend Farm for twenty-eight years where she raised her family. She went to work at Brown Shoe Co. and worked there for twenty-nine years where she served as President of the Local Union for many years. Genevieve loved to paint and displayed some of her paintings in various art shows in Herman, MO, the County Fair and more recently Gibbs Care Center. She also loved to crochet and quilt.


She accepted Jesus as her savior and was baptized and was a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church where she worked in the Sunday school department for many years. She always made sure her children were in Sunday school and church every single week.


The Family received friends from 10:00 a.m.


Honored to be casket bearers were Tony Plank, James Englehart, Ethan Englehart, Steven Plank, Craig Brown and Devon Brown.
