Portland, ME – Gaston A. “Gus” Labreche, 79, of Portland, passed away at Maine Medical Center on May 13, 2013, surrounded by his family. Born in Rimouski, Quebec, Canada on March 31, 1934, Gus was the son of the late Philip and Therese Labreche. Gus was raised in Laval, Quebec, just outside of Montreal.
He graduated from McGill University and also completed several years of medical school at the University of Ottowa. He married the love of his life, Monique Yvonne Labreche on July 19, 1963. They moved to the United States the following year where they raised three daughters. He pursued a career as a pharmaceutical representative for USV Pharmaceuticals.
Gus was an avid golfer and was a member at Riverside Golf Course for many years. He also loved to play pool and chess, both of which he excelled at. He enjoyed watching sports on TV, especially golf.
