FREDA WOLZ BAKER
Frederick, MD- Freda W. Baker, 94, formerly of Damascus and Adamstown, died on Thursday, November 14, 2013 in Frederick, MD .
Freda was born in Blackwell OK to Fred and Daisy Deane Wolz. She is the widow of the late Harry E. Baker, Jr.
On Christmas Day 1940, Freda Wolz exchanged wedding vows with Harry Baker, Jr. in Beloit, Kansas. They moved to MD soon after WWII where they were long-time residents of Damascus.
After their retirement from the Atomic Energy Commission in Germantown, in 1975 they moved to Sumerduck, Virginia where they lived for the next 25 years until 2000 when they became residents of Buckingham’s Choice and later at Sunrise.
Freda is the mother of Dan (Leesburg, VA) and Gary (Lexington, SC) Baker. Dan (Toby) are the parents of Todd (Kathy) Baker of Brookville, OH and the grandparents of Samantha, Bret, and Alison. Gary is the father of Mark (Lisa) and grandparent of Daniel and Maggie Baker, and the father of Gara (Daron Long), and grandparents of Seph, Bryce, Jenna, and Jarod Long. Freda is also survived by Gary’s step-children, Marshall and Hampton Fuller (Lexington, SC), and Theresa (Rhett Wilson) (Orlando, FL) and their children Ardin and Morgan Wilson.
