Frank “Red” Yocom
Frank passed in peace on Monday, March 22nd at the age of 88 after a battle with Heart Disease and Alzheimer’s. Frank was born in Gautier, Mississippi in 1933. He is survived by his Wife(Sarah), Son(Greg) and Daughter-in-Law(Mandi). Preceded in death by his Father(James “Lum” Yocom), Mother(Sarah “Frankie” Yocom) and Siblings; Carrie Ladnier, Floyd “Bo” Yocom, Maggie Givens, Pat Yocom, Chester Yocom, Helen Ladnier and L.E. Yocom.
Frank earned a Football Scholarship to North Louisiana State College(UL Monroe) He captained the Football Team as an Offensive and Defensive Lineman while earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. He joined the ROTC, served in the US Army Reserves and was active duty during the Vietnam War. Frank was National Sales Manager for Olin, Manville and Weyerhaeuser spanning over 40 years. Frank and Sarah lived in Chicago, Minneapolis and Dallas, where they adopted their son Greg, as an infant. The family moved to Monroe, Louisiana before Frank and Sarah retired to Hot Springs Village, Arkansas.
Frank will be fondly remembered by family and friends as a distinguished sales professional, champion fisherman, hunter, football player, golfer and master story teller.
