Frank Joseph Wevers Jr. of St. James, MO, formerly of Steelville, Missouri passed away Thursday, November 28, 2013 at the Missouri Veterans Home in St. James, MO at the age of 89 years. He was born July 21, 1924 in St. Louis, MO to Frank Joseph Wevers, Sr. and Catherine Weinzettle Wevers. On April 5, 1944 in St. Louis, MO he was united in marriage to Lavern Elizabeth Saenger who preceded him in death in 2011.
Frank served honorably in the U.S. Navy from 1941 through 1949. He was stationed in the South Pacific, Guam and the Great Lakes. After serving in the military, he worked with his father at General Cable Corps and then later he worked at Schweitzer’s making metal fan blades for cars, tractors, etc.
He will be sadly missed by his son, Frank “Butch” Joseph Wevers III and his wife Jo Ellen of Kimberling City, MO; six daughters, Diane Andrews and husband Tom of Lyons, CO, Janis Taylor and husband Gary of Salem, MO, Cathy Sexton and husband Richard of Valley Park, MO, Debbie Champion and husband Ken of Chamois, MO, Dotty Burke and husband Jim of St. James, MO and Cindy Pratt and husband Gary of Steelville, MO; fifteen grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and wife, Lavern Wevers.
