Flora White, 92, of Warren, MN, formerly of Graeagle, CA, passed away early Thursday morning, December 3, 2009 at the North Valley Health Center in Warren, MN.
Flora Mae Burton was born on March 6, 1917 in Minden, LA, the daughter of Leonard and Martha (Keith) Burton. She moved with her family to Long Beach, CA in 1924 and graduated from Polytechnic High School. Flora also attended Orange Coast College. On August 2, 1936, she married Alton White in Riverside, CA. They spent 1942-1943 in Edmonton, Alberta, CA with her husband who was employed on the Alcon (Alaska-Canada) Highway. In 1978, they moved to Graeagle. Alton died in 1989. Flora moved to Tyler, TX in July of 2003 and to Warren in December of 2006.
She was past president and lifetime member of the Beta Iota Chapter of Alpha Zeta Beta National Sorority.
Left to mourn her passing is a son, Keith Alton (Rose) White of Bullard, TX; grandson, Keith Alton (Lisa) White Jr. and great-grandson, Ian Alton White all of Buena Park, CA; three nephews, Burton Hall, Thomas (Kathi) Burton and David (Francis) Brewer; niece, Robin (Ken) Hanson; great-nieces, Amy Elifritz and Denise Hanson and great-nephew, Kendall Fillipi.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alton White; brother, James Burton; sister, Erma Reale and nephews, Jimmy Burton and Stephen Brewer.
