Fedora “Dodie” Jeanne Sargent, 94, of Steelville, MO passed away Thursday, August 25, 2011 at Gibbs Care Center in Steelville. “Dodie” was born August 22, 1917 in Lusk, WY to Henry Edward Wittekind and Flossie Pearl Schofield Wittekind. In 1935 at Angola, IN, she was united in marriage to Densel Sargent who preceded her in death on November 6, 1993.
“Dodie” was a member of the Parkway Presbyterian Church in Metairie, LA and a member of the Eastern Star. She always had a very active life by ice skating and running in her early years and later enjoyed playing golf and traveling. “Dodie” also enjoyed sewing, gourmet cooking, playing Scrabble, reading newspapers and books. She was a number one “Saints” football fan for many years and had seats on the fifty yard-line. She also enjoyed listening to classical and jazz music.
