Evelyn Ruth Sheets, 78, of Poplar Bluff, formerly of Williamsville, passed away Wednesday, July 13, 2022, at The Manor Nursing Center, Poplar Bluff. She was born in Mill Spring, MO, March 4, 1944, to parents Clyde Albert and Miriam Irene (Daughtery) Goebel.

Evelyn was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend. She and they were blessed with four beautiful daughters. Evelyn married her greatest love of all, Clinton Charles Sheets, on April 18, 1981. She enjoyed fishing, camping, watching Wheel of Fortune and The Price Is Right. Evelyn was pretty sharp at her crossword puzzles as well. She was a nurturing homemaker in her own home and loved to cook for family dinners and always made the holidays extra special. Her family made her happiest and it was obvious to everyone, every moment Evelyn had with her family was cherished dearly. Evelyn always said her greatest accomplishment and legacy was her family. She never failed to have words of wisdom and was the wisest woman her family ever had the honor of knowing. Her family and friends remember her as a very special lady.

In addition to her parents, Evelyn is preceded in death by her daughter: Betty Marie Montague; brothers: Mike and John Goebel; sister: Diane Michelson.

Evelyn is survived by her loving daughters: Peggy Roberts and husband Paul of Pocahontas, AR, Yvonne McQuitty of West Plains, and Karla Jo Goforth of Pocahontas, AR; son-in-law: Chad Montague; grandchildren: Sasha Goforth of Pocahontas, AR, and companion, Jimmy Willard of Williamsville, Danny Roberts and wife Tia of Pocahontas, AR, Kim Powell and companion, Andy Holbrook of Imboden, AR, Markus Duncan of Pocahontas, AR, Kayleah, Canyon, Tony Lee, Lainy, Kinlee, Tegan, Tessa, Brayton, Brady; great-grandchildren: Kyli Goforth of Poplar Bluff, Austin Roberts of Pocahontas, AR, Joe Luck of Paragould, AR, Michelle, Matt; brothers: Charles Goebel of Williamsville, Wayne Goebel of IL; sister: Edna Puckett whom she was very close to and thought of her as a daughter. Evelyn will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
