Her parents Hjalmar and Hedwig Larson moved the family to Ionia MI in the early 1920’s when Mr. Larson took a position at the Michigan State Prison. Evelyn grew up in Ionia and graduated from Ionia High School. She was married to Emory Friesner in 1943 for nearly thirty years who preceded her in death. The couple’s only son, Bob, died as a result of an auto accident in 1976. Evelyn’s siblings, Helen Myszak, Fred Larson and Dorothy Glasson, all preceded her in death.
She worked in the Abstract Office of the Ionia County Court House for many years. Before moving into an assisted living facility in Grand Rapids, Evelyn was a long time member of the First Christian Church in Ionia. She enjoyed traveling and working with ceramics and other crafts. She had a wonderful sense of humor and sometimes enjoyed a good laugh at her expense.
