Gene Pohl, age 66, of Westphalia, went to be with the Lord on Monday, August 15, 2022. He was born on May 12, 1956 to Bernard and Harriet (Smith) Pohl. Gene and his surviving wife of 43 years, Theresa (Wieber) Pohl, took great pride in their family. Gene greatly enjoyed his sons and daughters-in-laws: Adam & Lindsay Pohl of Dorr and Jarid & Christen Pohl of Lowell. He adored his five grandchildren: Landon, Passage, Lyla, Ivy and Lukas. Gene is also survived by his loving sisters: Rita Patrick of Lansing, Eileen (Randy) Scutt of Portland and Laura (Greg) Melton of Traverse City. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Clair Pohl and sister, Marilyn Pohl. Gene was also blessed with a caring and generous extended family of many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nephews and nieces.
Gene was a faithful member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Westphalia and an active member of the Knights of Columbus. He had a zest for life and sense of humor that could brighten any occasion. He and his wife enjoyed traveling the United States and internationally. He spent many years traveling, camping, motorcycling, snowmobiling, downhill skiing and golfing with family and friends. He especially enjoyed these activities with his sons.
