Eugene “Gene” C. Dames, Jr. passed away on December 5, 2018 at the age of 90. He was the beloved husband of the late Rosemary Dames nee Groeblinghoff of St. Paul, Missouri; He is survived by his son, Jack (Kim) Dames of Marthasville, MO; three daughters, Nancy (Mike) Scarry of St. Paul, MO, Jo-Ellen (David) Majewski of St. Paul, MO, Sherree (Sonny) Talbert of St. Paul, MO; seven sisters, Ruth (Pat) Dyer, Sr. Louella Dames, Clara (Paul) Hoeckleman, Helen Seagrass, Celine (Vernon) Griesbauer, Mary (Bob) Schuette, Theresa (Alex) Hernandez; daughter-in-law, Sondra; 15, grandchildren; 32, great-grandchildren; 3, great-great grandchildren; He is preceded in death by his father, Eugene Dames, Sr., mother, Francis Dames, Spouse, Rosemary H. Dames, brother, Frank Dames, sister-in-law, Laverne Dames, sister, Loretta Keavney, brother-in-law, Ben Keavney, brother-in-law, Junior Seagrass, grandson, Steven Conoyer. Gene was married to the love of his life Rosemary on August 30, 1950. He proudly served our country in the Army during the Korean War. Gene was the owner of the Dog Prairie Tavern for over 50 years located in St. Paul, Missouri. In his spare time, he also enjoyed cars, especially classics, traveling and collecting all things. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Luncheon following at the Knights of Columbus Hall.
