Eugene C. VanVleck was laid to rest on May 10, 2006. He was born on April 13, 1922 in Palo the son of Peter and Alta (Harter) VanVleck. He graduated in 1939 from Ionia High School. As a youth he enjoyed basketball and softball. He married Ruth Lorraine Vos on March 7, 1942 and she preceded him in death in July 1962. Eugene married Esther Panney and she preceded him death in March 1994. Also, he was preceded in death by his father, Peter in 1980, his mother Alta in April 1996; a infant nephew, Roy; brother, Harvey VanVleck in April 1965.
