Ervin W. Broten, of Viking, MN, passed away on February 15, 2010 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND at the age of 91 years, 10 months and 26 days.
Ervin was born on March 20, 1918 in Foldahl Township, Marshall County, MN, the son of Alvin and Palma (Windahl) Broten. He was born in the house his grandparents built and spent his entire life within a half mile of home.
On August 3, 1946, Ervin married Darline Sinn in Warren, MN. In 1948, they purchased a farm next door to the home place, where he farmed until 1998. They had six children, five sons and one daughter.
Ervin was baptized at Bethesda Lutheran Church in Marsh Grove Township and confirmed at Mission Church in Newfolden.
