Eileen M. Ravndalen, the daughter of Marie (Johnson) and Art Olson, was born on December 30, 1926 in Candby, MN. She moved to the Roosevelt, MN area in 1929 and grew up in Swift. She graduated from Warroad High School in 1944. That summer, she worked in a defense plant in LaCrosse, WI and later attended teacher’s training in Roseau, MN for a year. She married Otto Ravndalen on January 19, 1945 in East Grand Forks, MN. Eileen taught school for a year in Salol, and did substitute teaching and taught head start for a year. For most of her marriage, she was a homemaker. After a short stay in International Falls, Otto and Eileen settled in Roosevelt. Eileen was a member of the Lutheran church and was active in Ladies Aide and Sunday school. Otto passed away on November 4, 1993. Eileen sold their home and moved to Glenwood in 1995, where she has resided until the time of her death on July 10, 2007 at the age of 80.

She is survived by her children, Bob (Marlin Sorrels) of Roosevelt, MN, Barb (special friend, Mike Pribyl) of Thief River Falls, MN and Brenda (Udean) Sargent of Glenwood, MN; special friend, Don Hurd of Glenwood; 9 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; sisters, Elsie (Clare) Nelson of Gunnison, CO and Judith (Dick) Edgar of Houston, TX; brothers, Don (Joan) Olson of Bemidji, Leonard (Judy) Olson and Jim ( Jeanette) Olson both of International Falls, MN;sister-in-law, Cora Ravndalen and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Art and Marie; husband, Otto; son, Bruce; son-in-law, Doug Smith and one grandson.
