Obituary
Ed W. Hajek Jr. passed away on January 8, 2019 at the age of 81. He was the beloved husband of Marj Hajek nee Felper of Lake Saint Louis, Missouri; He is survived by his son, Ed C. (Anne) Hajek of Burnsville, MN; two daughters, Susan L. Hajek of Austin, TX, Kristie C. (John) Harris of Austin, TX; sister, Karen (John) Harvie of Naples, FL; grandchildren, Maria, Charlie and Jack Hajek, Wil, Harley and Vivian Harris; He is preceded in death by his father, Ed W. Hajek, Sr., mother, Elsie Hajek, sister, Cherie Schlott. Ed graduated from General Motors Institute with a B.S. in Engineering. He worked for the Ford Motor Company for 35 years; finishing his career at the St. Louis Ford Assembly Plant. Ed was the Lake Saint Louis Mayor for 10 years and served on numerous committees and boards including the Planning and Zoning board and the parks boards. He was very involved in the Rotary Club holding many offices including President of the local club. He enjoyed spending his leisure time at the YMCA with friends and traveling to see family and friends in Austin, Minneapolis, and of course the fall trek to Sanibel Island, Florida. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
