Pascagoula Veterinarian Dr. Keshav Chand (K.C.) Mangal, 82, son of Uttam Chand Mangal and Sono Devi Mangal, passed at his family home in Pascagoula, MS on Thursday, July 28, 2022. Born on August 1, 1939, in Bari, India, Dr. K.C. Mangal received his Master’s Degree from Texas A & M and then his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, in 1973 and then moved to Pascagoula, MS. Dr. Mangal served his community not only as a veterinarian for 40 years, but also as a highly involved member of Kiwanis Club, Lions Club, Chamber of Commerce, Elks Lodge, Krewe of Tri-Cities, and Rotary Club. These local organizations were some of the ways through which Dr. Mangal made a difference, many of which he held office as President. Prior to his departure, Dr. Mangal donated a large amount of land and money in India for a temple to feed those in need for hundreds of years to come.
Dr. Mangal is survived by his children Mukesh Mangal, Rakesh Mangal, and Neelou and his grandchildren Ravi, Ajay, Raj, Anil, Reeti, and Alkesh. Dr. Mangal’s hobbies included reading, traveling the world, long walks on the beach, and playing golf. Pascagoula was always his home, and his family will carry on his legacy.
