Dr. Houston Kendrick Seay passed away at his home on Thursday, December 8, 2022 at the age of 96.
Ken was born on January 12, 1926 Pascagoula, MS to Harley and Nellie Seay. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corp serving in WWII and the Korean Conflict. He continued service to our country in Army reserve with the Mississippi National Guard. He retired as Superintendent for the Pascagoula School System in 1991 after 42 years of service. His servant’s heart gained him respect of students, staff and the community. He was a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church in Pascagoula.
As life would have it, a darkhaired girl with intelligence and wit caught his attention, Glenmary Newsome … and the rest became history. For 65 years they taught together and raised a family of three children, Frederick, Jean and Jane. They worked and worshiped side by side until her death in 2016. He lived his life with integrity and by example.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Glenmary Seay and a sister, Genevieve Strother.
He is survived by three children, Dr. Frederick Seay (Ruth) of Sugar Land, TX, Jean Dufault (Jimmie) and Jane Verrett (Brian) all of Pascagoula, MS; seven grandchildren Daniel, Aaron and Hannah Seay, Jordan and Jamie Dufault, Drew Quandt and Melanie Verrett.
