Dorothy Janzen died on May 31, 2007 at the Warroad Care Center where she has resided for the last 10 years.
Dorothy Evelyn Wagner was born on January 26, 1918 near Spenser, Iowa to Robert and Nellie (Howland) Wagner. She was part of 11 children in the Wagner family. The family soon moved to south-central Minnesota where she grew up. She married Henry Janzen on December 28, 1932. They lived in various places in southern Minnesota until 1946 when they moved to Littlefork where Henry was employed at Boise Cascade paper mill. There they lived until 1992 when they moved to International Falls. Henry died on February 27, 1994. In 1997, suffering from Parkinson’s Disease, Dorothy moved into the Care Center at Warroad.
Dorothy is survived by her three sons, Duane (Jacqulin) of Littlefork, MN, Orville (Jean) of Elk River, MN, and Eldon (Anita) of Yuma, AZ; 8 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren; as well as four sisters-in-law. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Marion E.; grandson, Troy; great-grandson Derrick; and siblings, Leslie, Gladys, Donald, Dale, Mabel, Edith, Pearl, Nellie, Kenneth and Robert.
