Dorothy Marie Lea of Steelville, Missouri passed away Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at her home at the age of 91 years, 6 months and 10 days. She was born May 16, 1922 in St. Louis, Missouri to William and Marie Badendieck. On April 26, 1972, she was united in marriage to John “Bud” Lea” who preceded her in death in 2006.
She was of the Catholic faith. Dottie was co-owner for several years in the Meramec Real Estate and also worked at Edies Backwoods Antiques. She always enjoyed buying, selling antiques and her privacy.
She will be missed by her special friend, Curtis Hayes and family along with Abigail Hayes, whom Dottie consider her granddaughter; three brothers in-law, Pete Lea and wife Bonnie, Hack Lea and wife Verniece and Bill Lea and wife Dormalie all of Steelville, MO; and two sisters in-law, Matred Kehner and Shirley Mager both of Steelville, MO.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bud Lea; and three brothers in-law, Leslie Kehner, Dr. Charles Counts and Richard Mager.
The Family received friends from 10:30 a.m.
Honored to be casket bearers were Curtis Hayes, Mark Cook, Johnny Eaton, Caleb Henby, Paul Fulliam, Joe Lea and Billy Lea.
