Portland – Dorothea Cecilia Walsh, “Dottie”, 91 of Portland passed away at Maine Medical Center on May 5, 2013. She was born in Portland on September 6, 1921, the daughter of fireman Robert J. Walsh and Florence Nicholson Walsh. She resided in Portland her whole life, living in the Woodfords area and graduating from Deering High School in 1941. She was also a long-time parishioner of St. Joseph’s Church. She lived most recently at The Woods at Canco and greatly enjoyed her time there.
Dottie worked in the retail business, employed for many years by Rines Bros. and later at the Uniform Shop in Portland, where she worked into her late 70’s. Dottie had many joys in her life, including going to the beach, especially along the Florida coast, knitting, jewelry, and shopping, where she never missed an opportunity to go to a craft fair.
