Doris Zak, 85, of Erskine, MN, formerly of Sherack, MN, passed away on Saturday, April 11, 2009 at her home in Erskine.
Doris Jane Neegaard was born on January 14, 1924 in Warren, MN, the daughter of Martin and Kristina (Engstrom) Neegaard. She was raised in Warren where she attended Warren High School. On January 10, 1942, she was united in marriage to Robert Zak in Warren. They made their home in Sherack where they farmed. In 2001, they moved to Erskine. Robert died on May 20, 2003.
She enjoyed gardening, canning and cooking. Doris loved animals, especially cats and dogs.
Left to mourn her passing are two children: Gerald (Karen) Zak of Grand Forks, ND and Debbie Zak of Mentor, MN; six grandchildren, Penni, Jason, Kyle, Amber, Stacy and Tyler; great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters, Myrtle Anderson and Ruby Asp and four brothers, Ralph, John, Walter and Marvin.
