Bath- Dennis R. Murphy, 59, of Seafarer Lane died Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at his residence after a long illness.
He was born on East Meadow, Long Island, NY on November 19, 1956, a son of Dennis R. and Marion (McKenney) Murphy.
He graduated from Morse High School in the class of 1975 and attended Maine Maritime Academy and University of Maine in Orono. He received his Masters Degree in Clinical Christian Counseling from the International Bible College and Seminary. He also studied through the National Christian Counselors Association and Pearle Vision to receive his Optician Certificate and California Opticians license. He built houses and then was employed at Pearle Vision and doctors offices. He later counseled both privately and Cumberland County Jail.
He was a member of the Christian Coalition.
He is survived by his son, Joshua Murphy of Bowdoinham, his daughter, Briannia Murphy and grandson, Patrick Murphy, both of Portland.
He was predeceased by his parents and sister, Gail Murphy.
