Pownal – Dean R. O’Roak, 87, of Pownal passed away at his home on Friday, October 6, 2017 with his daughters & family by his side. He was born in Sherman, Maine on June 7, 1930 the son of Burleigh & Mattie O’Roak.
Dean had a passion for the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He built a lot of sports camps and sap camps. In later years, he fed any wild creature that crossed his path. He was a true humanitarian, generous in his time helping people. He will be missed by all those who loved him.
Dean is predeceased by his parents; his wife, Jackie; 2 brothers, Bill O’Roak & Claire O’Roak & 2 sisters, Corrine Bragdon and Verda Mitchell.
He leaves behind 2daughters, Ellen O’Roak & Debbie Osgood and her husband Dan both of Pownal; his much loved grandchildren, Moksha & Joel Osgood. He is also survived by his brother Walton O’Roak of Bangor and a sister, Dorothy McLellan of Sherman; and he will be missed by many nieces and nephews who he loved and teased throughout their lives.
