Obituary
David M. Gilley Sr. passed away on April 25, 2018 at the age of 83. He is survived by his beloved wife, Glenda Gilley nee Schrumm formely of Chesterfield, MO; 3 children, Pam Gilley-Doumel of Camdenton, MO, Julie Gilley-Gold of St. Charles, MO; David M. (Bonnie) Gilley Jr. of Wright City, MO; Son-in-law, Mark Gold, St. Charles, MO; grandchildren, Damein, Adam, Justin, Parker, Emily; great-grandchildren, Mariyah, Cameron, Darius; step-grandchildren, Jamie, Chris, Suzy and Drew. He is preceded in death by his father, Henry D. Gilley, mother, Anna Gilley, brothers, Gregory Gilley, Jerry Gilley, Richard (Speedy) Gilley, Tom Gilley, sisters, Irene Gribble, Lorraine Bay, Shirley Butler.
David was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church. David served our country in the US Army. He loved to play handball and was the MO state doubles handball champion. He was past president of Missouri Athletic Club, St. Louis Sales and Marketing Club and Student Council. He was a member of St. Louis Ambassadors Jr., Chamber of Commerce, St. Louis Ad Club. He belonged to the Legion of 1000 Adorers and Pink Sisters. He was a graduate of DeAndreis High School, Class of 1952 and a graduate of St. Louis University of 1956. He received his Bachelor of Science and his Masters from St. Louis University. He was editor of his high school paper. David was the best husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He loved to learn and never saw the impossible he only saw a way to make things possible. He touched the lives of many everyday and as a result he made our world a better place. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
