Darrel “Lynn” Bailey, 57 of St. James, Mo, passed away on Tuesday, November 24, 2015, just as he wished, at home surrounded by his loved ones.

Darrel was born August 30, 1958 in Jefferson City, Mo, the son of James Hodge and Mary Louise Noblet Bailey.

Lynn is survived by his two daughters, Rainna Kay Bailey of Columbia, and Shaye Lynn Bailey of St. James, as well as a step son, Jeffrey Walden of St. Louis. One grandson, Demonte A. Dixon and three step granddaughters, Jade, Rhianna and Kyli Walden of St. Louis., his mother Mary Louise Lammers and husband Billy of Belle, four brothers, Karl Bailey and wife Bobbie Bailey of St. James, Donie Buehrlen and wife Shari Buehrlen of Belle, Randy Buehrlen and Pat Lewis, of Rolla, and Michael Buehrlen of St. James.

Lynn lived and worked in Columbia, Missouri until 2000, when he relocated to the Steelville/St James area. He mananged local bowling alleys until he eventually started his own business;  “Baileys Bowling and Maintence”, which spread throughout central Missouri. “Lynn” was a corporal E4 in the US Army from 10/1974 until 10/1976. Lynn not only served his family but our country as well.

Family and friends were at the top of Lynn’s love and joy list. He enjoyed Cardinals Baseball, and was a roaring Kansas City Chiefs fan. He always enjoyed a good game of washers, darts, or a game of Risk with the guys. Lynn loved music, swimming, a good tan, barbeques and fishing trips with family. He loved Christmas, especially the Christmas lights. He loved John Wayne movies, birthday cake, and mom’s apple cobbler. He was big hearted, and had a laugh that was amazingly unforgettable.

Lynn leaves behind a lot of caring relatives and friends, many nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends that will all dearly miss him.

The family wishes to thank, Phelps County Regional Hospice, and all the family and friends, that helped care for him over the last several months while he battled his disease like a champion.
