Daphine Olson, 91, of Warren, MN, passed away on Wednesday morning, March 31, 2010 at the North Valley Health Center in Warren, MN.
Daphine Nicholls was born on July 19, 1918 in rural Warren, the daughter of Noble and Eva (Liebold) Nicholls. She attended the Cook country school. Daphine had many jobs and chores while growing up on the family farm and she also worked for a local farmer. She worked two years for a local dentist, Dr. Bakke. On February 19, 1940, Daphine married Oscar Olson. They made their home in McCrea Township, Marshall County, MN, (rural Warren) where they farmed and raised farm animals including dairy and beef cattle, chickens, sheep and pigs. They farmed for more than forty years before moving into the Landmark Center on March 1, 1983. Oscar died on September 18, 1993. Daphine moved to the Good Samaritan Center on March 13, 2008.
She always had a large garden and did a lot of canning. Daphine also enjoyed sewing for the family, baking bread and buns, as well as pies, bars and cookies.
