Daniel Michalski, 73, of Argyle, MN, died of cancer on Sunday evening, January 25, 2009 at his home.

Daniel William Michalski was born on May 29, 1935 in Oslo, MN, the son of Theodore and Susie (Paschke) Michalski. At the age of three, Daniel moved with his family to a farm near Argyle. Daniel graduated from Argyle High School in 1953. He lived in the Argyle community his entire life, devoting himself to his family and farm. As a young man he was active in various community projects and organizations. He was a volunteer coach for the St. Rose School elementary basketball program and served on the Argyle School Board. He was active in church, participating in RE classes as a student and teacher. Daniel had a beautiful voice and sang in the St. Rose Choir for many years. He married Karen Jensen and they made their home on the family farm in Alma Township, moving into Argyle in 1980. In 1982, Daniel attended a “Life in the Spirit” seminar at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Warren where he rededicated his life to Jesus.

He was an avid sports fan, especially enjoying televised college basketball. Instigating conversation over coffee at Lyle’s and Cenex was his favorite past time.

Daniel leaves to mourn, his wife, Karen; daughter, Kari (Tom) Campion of Brainerd, MN; son, Jay (Carrie) Michalski of Warren, MN; five granddaughters, Kate and Anne Campion, Paige, Danielle and Erin Michalski; brother, Duane (Diane) Michalski of Apple Valley, MN; two sisters-in-law, Peggy Michalski and Lorna (Harvey) Anderson; brother-in-law, Gay (Bev) Jensen and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore and Susie; three brothers, Norbert, Sylvester and Adolf; two sisters, Dorothy Yutrzenka and Florence Yutrzenka; niece, Kathy (Yutrzenka) Flaten and three nephews, Joseph Michalski, Ronald Michalski and Matthew Jensen.
