Brunswick-Daniel John Centineo, 56, of River Road died Saturday, June 24, 2017
at his residence.
He was born in Beverly, MA on May 11, 1961, a son of Carmine and Dorothy
(Gray) Centineo.
He attended the Country Mile school in Georgetown. He received his high
school diploma from the State of Maine and attended University of Maine at
Farmington for one semester. He was married to Joyce Soule for one year. He
attended Beals College in Brunswick for one semester and held several local jobs.
He resided with his parents for a number of years before moving on to his own
apartments in Brunswick.
He was an avid Chess player since childhood and had won many awards and
trophies. He was considered an emerging star in chess according to an article in
the Maine Sunday Telegram in 1974. According to the article in the Machigonne
Open in Portland he finished a strong second and had previously a good showing
in the New England Open.
He was a member of the Corliss Street Baptist Church in Bath.
He is survived by his parents, Carmine and Dorothy Centineo of Brunswick, one
sister, Lorriann Centineo of Brunswick and one nephew, Nathaniel Marden of
Brunswick.
