Chester Pokrzywinski, 76, of Argyle, MN, formerly of Fargo, ND, passed away on Sunday, August 9, 2009 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND.

Chester E. Pokrzywinski was born on May 11, 1933 in Warsaw, ND, the son of John and Margaret (Dauksavage) Pokrzywinski. He was raised in Alvarado, MN and attended school in Argyle. Chester moved to Fargo, ND where he did road construction and he worked at Armour Meats and Brancik Manufacturing. He married Alice Zacher on November 24, 1993. They lived in Fargo until moving to La Crosse, WI in 1997. In 2002, they moved to Argyle.

Left to mourn his passing are his wife, Alice; four stepchildren, Betty Laib of Rugby, ND, Brian Zacher, Barry Zacher and Brenda Helm all of Bismarck, ND; eleven step grandchildren; three step great-grandchildren; five sisters, Alice Kostrzewski of Warren, MN, Loretta Kostrzewski and Sarah Lindemoen both of Argyle, MN, Dorothy Stancyk of Hemet, CA and Geraldine Topka of Argyle, MN; two brothers, Peter Pokrzywinski of Argyle, MN and Alex Pokrzywinski of La Crosse, WI.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Julian, Leonard and Louis and five infant siblings.

SERVICE: 10:30 AM on Friday, August 14, 2009 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Argyle, MN.
