Charles Erick Landin, the son of Gertrude (Peterson) and Erick O. Landin, was born on February 7, 1923 in Warroad, MN. He helped on his family farm near Warroad until entering the U.S. Army in 1944 at Ft. Snelling. After basic training in Ft. Hood, TX, he served during WWII in France. After being injured in the line of duty, he was transferred from the field hospital in Southern France to Percy Jones Hospital in Ft. Custer, MI for 10 months, when he received his honorable discharge in 1945. He was awarded the Purple Heart, the Combat Infantry Badge, the Good Conduct Ribbon, European, African, Middle Eastern Campaign Ribbon and one Bronze Campaign Star. He and Alice (Peterson) were married on August 25, 1946 and had two sons. He worked for Marvin Windows for nearly 30 years as lead accountant, retiring in 1985 He was a life member of the D.A.V. and the Warroad American Legion, and past president and active in the Warroad Lakers hockey team.

Charlie enjoyed partridge hunting with his wife and sons, deer huntin,driving around in the Forest area to see wild animals (deer and bear) and sports, especially, baseball, hockey and football.

Charlie Landin passed away on March 4, 2007 at the Warroad Care Center at the age of 84.

He is survived by his sons, Roger (Joelyn) Landin of Warroad and Wayne (Kelly) Landin of Roseau; 4 grandchildren, Corey, Kalie, Erika, and Marty; 3 great-grandchildren, Alix, Camryn, and Jace; siblings, Donald Landin of Warroad, Vivian Robertson of Warroad and Henry (Patricia) Landin of Warroad.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Alice in 2003; two brothers, Earl and Richard.
