Charles Vernal Redburn of St. James, Mo. passed away at the Missouri Veterans Home in St. James on Tuesday, February 21, 2017. He was 84 years, 2 months and 15 days of age.
Charles Vernal Redburn was born on December 6, 1932 in Eminence, Mo. to his parents: Claude and Essie Nichols Redburn. He was united in marriage to Louise on March 1, 1954 in Cuba, Mo.
Charles Redburn was a union carpenter for many years, but his job he loved the most was the farm that he and his wife purchased in 1968, after his service to his country in the US Army Military Police. He loved to be on the farm to work the ground and raise cattle. Charles greatest love was serving the Lord. He lead the music in the congregations he attended. He was never shy about professing his faith in song and extending the gospel through his word. He was a member of the Broadway Baptist Church where he was song leader for many years; and attended at Vichy Community Church and Macedonia Baptist Church. He was a dovoted family man having provided the example of attending and praising the Lord. He will be sadly missed.
Charles Redburn is survived by his beloved wife; Louise Redburn of St. James, Mo.; three dear sons: Alan Redburn and wife Cindy of Cuba, Mo.; Carl Redburn and wife Marcinda of St. James, Mo.; and Bub Redburn and wife Kelly of Fayetteville, Arkansas; two dear daughters: Kathy Spurling and husband Ken of Vichy, Mo. and Sandy Redburn Gorman of St. James, Mo., two sisters: Elsie Moore of Bethal, Mo. and Maxine Ross of Alabama; along with 15 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
Preceding Charles Redburn in death is his parents: Claude and Essie Nichols Redburn West, stepfather: Pearlie West and one brother: Glen T. West.
