Charles Douglas Tillman 82, of Pascagoula, Mississippi, passed away on Friday, December 30, 2022 at his home surrounded by his loved ones. Charles ( better known as Poncho “the bull”) was born on July 31st 1940, in Moss Point, Mississippi to the late Troy and Marie Tillman. 

Poncho was a long time resident of Pascagoula, Mississippi and a member of Ingalls Avenue Baptist Church. He graduated from Moss Point  High School, then went on to play football at Perk Community College. Poncho also played softball where he went into the World Series. His love of sports lead him to coach baseball for many years. Poncho retired from Ingalls Shipbuilding in 2001.  Anyone that knew him knew that he loved Cruising the Coast and was a member of the Magnolia Cruisers. He was an avid fisherman, rather, it be casting a cast net, deep sea fishing, crabbing, floundering, or anything to do with the water. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers Joseph Tillman , R.E. Tillman , sister Shirley Maddox, and stepson, Johnny Everett.

He was survived by his loving wife, Sheila Tillman of 38 years. His sons, Paul  (Jana) Tillman and Chad (Sylvia) Tillman , daughter, Mitzy Barr; stepdaughters, Melanie  McAurthur and Leigh Ann (Jimmy) Scott, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews. His brother, Lavell Tillman  and sister Laverne Tillman Wideman Arns. His survivors also include his very special friends, Don Coulter, Jimmy King, Tommy Krebs, and Joann and Billy Rowell.

We would like to give special thanks to Kare-In-Home care staff Carolyn Driver, John Paul Taylor and Kimberly, hospice of light staff, Stephanie, and Paige, his physicians, Dr. Thomas Stevens, Dr. Simon Rizik and Dr. Joel Brunt.
