Charles “Charlie”, “Pa” Gittemeier passed away on April 30, 2018 at the age of 80. He is survived by his two sons, Gary (Teresa) Gittemeier of Leheigh Acres, FL, Glenn (Jamie) Gittemeier of Wentzville, MO; daughter, Tammy (Rich) Alexander of Wentzville, MO; three brothers, Leonard (Kate) Gittemeier, St. Charles, MO, Edward (Gayle) Gittemeier of St. Charles, MO, Dennis (Bonnie) Gittemeier of St. Charles, MO; three sisters, Joan Lammers of St. Charles, MO, Margie Kolb of Wentzville, MO, Carol Ann (Tom) Fritzsche of Hazelwood, MO; son-in-law, Jack Oehler; 11 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; companion, Janice Cutright. He is preceded in death by his father, Sylvester Gittemeier, mother, Viola Gittemeier, wife, Patricia (Schappe) Gittemeier, daughter, Laurie Oehler, brothers, James Gittemeier, Eugene Gittemeier, William Gittemeier, Richard Gittemeier; son-in-law Todd Lockhart. Charlie loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed many Sunday gatherings, barbequing and watching football. He was loved by many people who referred to him as “Pa”. Charlie also enjoyed his trips to Ameristar Casino. He owned and operated Crafton Contracting for 40 plus years. He was the world’s best grandpa! He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
