Carman Lee “Frog” Halbert of Steelville, Missouri passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at Gibbs Care Center at the age of 70 years, 8 months and 25 days. He was born October 24, 1942 in Crawford County to Carman Loyd Halbert and Mary Lee Waller Halbert. On November 15, 1960, he was united in marriage to Wanda Taylor and to this union four children were born.


He will be sadly missed by his wife, Wanda Halbert of Steelville, MO; three sons, Kevin Halbert and wife Fran and Keith Halbert all of Steelville, MO and Kelly Halbert and wife Sharlene of Choctaw, OK; one daughter, Katie Halbert of Steelville, MO; two brothers, Roger Halbert and wife Lena of Steelville, MO and Rodney Halbert and wife Lynn of Rolla, MO; two sisters, Joan Summers and husband John of Cedar Hill, MO and Joyce Sutherland of Steelville, MO; four grandchildren, Chad, Seth, Josh and Ashley Halbert; one great-grandchild, Emery Rose Shackelford; brothers in-law, Bill Taylor of Austin, TX, John Taylor and wife Carolyn of Steelville, MO; sisters in-law, Mildred Farmer and husband Lee of Glen Carbon, IL, Georgia Helderman and husband Wayne of White Water, MO and Patsy Havens and husband John of St. James, MO; other relatives and friends.


He was preceded in death by his parents; brother and sisters in-law, Jim Taylor and wife Elaine and Pauline Taylor.


“Frog” served honorably in the U.S. Air Force and retired October 31, 1986 after twenty-six years.


He had accepted Christ several months ago.


“Frog” loved to ride horses and would always be seen in the parade on his horse.


The Family received friends from 10:00 a.m.


Honored to be casket bearers were Rod Halbert, Kevin Halbert, Josh Halbert, Rodney Halbert, Kelly Halbert and John Summers.
