Obituary
Captain John F. Burns, Jr., USNR passed away on November 27, 2018 at the age of 81. He was the beloved husband of Sue Burns nee Johnson of Saint Louis, Missouri; He is survived by his two sons, Rick (Lora) Burns, Don (Dawn) Burns; daughter, Terrie Peterson; five granddaughters, Jessica Sauerbelich, Nichol Romanski, Shannon Peterson, Emily Burns, Elizabeth Burns; two grandsons, Michael Peterson, Jake Burns; four great-granddaughters, Savana Sauerbelich, Sofia Sauerbelich, Kinsley Romanski, Pailyn Romanski; He is preceded in death by his father, John Francis Burns, Sr., mother, Ida Mae Burns nee Taylor. John F. Burns, Jr. retired from the U. S. Navy Reserves as a Captain on July 21, 1997 after 30+ years of service. He worked in many capacities at McDonnell Douglas for over 30 years. John was a member of Knights of Columbus. John had an Engineering Degree from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri and a Master’s Degree from Webster University in St. Louis, Missouri. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and was a great history buff. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
