Brian Christensen, 41, entered into eternal rest on the evening of December 3, 2015.
Brian was born, on Aug 1, 1974, in Brainerd, MN, to William Christensen and Barbara Post. Brian graduated from Brainerd Senior High School in 1992 and went on to follow in the footsteps of his grandpa Post, his father, Bill, and uncle, Tom, graduating from Wadena Technical College with a degree as an Electrical Lineman. He took jobs in several cities in Minnesota while working as a lineman, the last which was for the City of Stephen, MN, all the while raising his daughter, Courtney, as a single parent. Courtney was the love of his life and could always manage to bring a smile to Brian’s face and a twinkle to his eye.
Brian became an avid hunter and fisherman at a young age and continued to enjoy the outdoors throughout his life. He loved sitting in a deer stand with Courtney nearby, or fishing on Lake of the Woods with his father(s), Courtney, Uncle Chuck, or his friends. Brian spent many weekends camping in the Brainerd Lakes area with friends and family. He also loved teaching his nephew, Treshon, everything that he knew about fishing. According to Brian, there was no other sport to be a fan of than hockey- preferably, of the Minnesota Wild.
In addition to his parents, William and Jeanne Christensen, and Barb and Michael DeRosier all of Brainerd, and daughter, Courtney, Brian is survived by a maternal grandmother Lois Post of Brainerd; sister, Tracie (Thomas Young) DeRosier; nephews, Treshon and Tavion; niece, Teyahna; aunts and uncles, Jim “Chuck” Christensen of Stephen, Marie (Denny) Underdale of Two Harbors, MN, Susan Olson of Detroit Lakes, MN, Myla Roskop of Fairmont, MN, and Lisa (Tom) Patrick of Brainerd; and several cousins.
Brian was preceded in death by his grandparents, Glenn Post, and Don and Donna Christensen; and step-grandparents, Gerald and Dorthea Williams.
Brian was greatly loved and will be forever missed.
